Nicole Hatfield

Associate Strategist, Brand & Intelligence

Poetic License

Nicole comes to brand strategy with a poet’s attention to language. At Washington College, she studied English and creative writing and spent two years reading poetry submissions for Cherry Tree. In 2021, she was a finalist for the Sophie Kerr Prize and won the college’s Jude and Miriam Pfister Poetry Prize.

Her writing portfolio, Inhabit, brought together poems, personal essays, and literary analysis exploring place and the body. That interest in place also grounds her volunteer work at local food gardens and her hobby of permaculture, or regenerative agriculture.

At adeo, Nicole brings that background in close reading and interpretation to her role in Brand & Intelligence. The words an organization chooses, what they imply, and how people understand them are all part of the work.
