Digital

Freedom in Reproduction—Maryland needed a strategic campaign, fundraising expertise, and a digital mechanism for driving awareness, engagement and giving.

In November 2024, Question1 passed successfully with 76% of the vote - the largest margin of any statewide abortion-rights ballot in 2024 across the country.

The Challenge

In the wake of the Supreme Court's decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, reproductive rights faced unprecedented threats nationwide. In response, Freedom in Reproduction - Maryland (FIRM) spearheaded a critical statewide ballot initiative in Maryland: Question 1. A YES vote on this initiative in the November election would amend Maryland’s constitution to guarantee reproductive freedom, including abortion access and birth control.

The Solutions

Developing a strategic fundraising campaign to build financial support for the initiative's objectives.

Designing a microsite that could mobilize Maryland voters, encouraging them to stay informed, volunteer, donate, and spread the word.

Ensuring the site was easy to navigate and capable of supporting large-scale advocacy and fundraising efforts leading up to the vote.

The Impact

When the website launched, Freedom in Reproduction - Maryland  gained significant traction, with the platform raising over $65,000 in donations and helping to mobilize a passionate community of supporters.
